vAlenTiNe'z dAy ....

Valentines day. Each and every year it comes. Filled with movies, songs, candy, and roses. Majority of people seem to have it all. They have their steady girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, or wife. But what about the people who find themselves single? What are they suppose to do on this day that’s suppose to be filled with love?

Some may choose to continue their life like nothing is different and they don’t give a care in the world. Or what about the people who find themselves crying and overly depressed? Or what about the people who are in the middle? The people who could move on with out really caring but yet they wonder what it would be like if they had that one special person. There could be so many different ways people think about the infamous Valentines Day.

For me I’m in the middle. I usually do not think about it really. But if I go to any store there seems to be miles upon miles of pink and red valentines displays. Each one urging us to hurry and find that special gift for that special someone. It can get annoying and even depressing after awhile. I mean society beats the holiday into our head that there is no way that we could ever not remember it.

Each year I would get numerous candy grams and Valentines Day card and various small-package candies. So growing up it was never a “depressing” holiday. To tell the truth I probably received more candy grams than anyone who had a “valentine”. It wasn’t until college that I really thought about how it was not having a valentine. It doesn’t really bug me because I still do stuff but when my friends and me go out on the love day each and every restaurant and movie theater is filled with couples. I mean like every place. Its crazy. Not that I’m not for love. I mean I love, love. But so much at once is almost ridiculous.

I kind of blame Hollywood for a part of society’s obsession with love. I mean all the tv shows, radio shows, and movies that tell us that the best life is with that special someone. Which may or may not be true. People are so desperate nowdays that they not only try to meet someone online, but they go on tv shows to publically have their heart broken. I mean does this sound like a good time? I don’t think so. But what does this have to do with Valentines Day. A quit a bit. The girls who are the ones who find themselves morally depressed over this holiday, are driven to desperate measures. I find it lame. But some girls just have to find and man. And what is a seemingly fast way to do this? Go online and sign up or apply to be on a tv show. These girls need some help. But yet if they weren’t so desperate what would I have to watch on Monday nights?

Anywho this v-day I will kick’n it with my homies and having a good time. But my best wishes goes out to those lucky people who have found their special person. And my condolence goes out to those who will be in a deep depression on this love holiday.
